bd studio, founded by Bryan Dunstan in 2007, is a design-driven practice dedicated to the making of quality architecture with an approach equally committed to the conceptualisation, realisation and implementation of the architectural project.

We are inspired to create quiet architecture that is structured by a rigorous spatial and geometric ordering within which ideas of landscape, materiality, light and use are explored. An understated architecture that comprises neutral and familiar materials creating spaces that surrender to the sensual experience of space. An architecture that is comfortable with old and new registering use and the passage of time through the poetics of weather.

Notable projects include a home and office for ‘George Baker’ fabrics featured in the 2010 December issue of VISI magazine and a studio for artist William Kentridge.

Current projects include a private art gallery and a furniture showroom for Future Classics in Parkhurst. In Braamfontein we have recently completed trendy 70 Juta soon to be followed by a rooftop entertainment venue with a spectacular view of the city.
